About Morris
The son of a volunteer firefighter and the brother of a sheriff’s deputy, Morris comes from a family who puts great value and commitment into public service. By serving as your next county commissioner, Morris will continue in this long family tradition and give back to the community that has given him so much.
While a senior in high school, Morris received a nomination from Former U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Although his nomination to West Point was a high honor, life had different plans for Morris. After graduating from Valencia High School in 2013, Morris attended the University of Denver where he received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. While in college, Morris was active in College Republicans serving as the National Western Regional Secretary leading chapters in 11 western states as well as county and state politics in Colorado.
Through his college experiences, Morris learned the values of hard-work, commitment and servant-leadership all skills needed in our next county commissioner.
Upon graduating from the University of Denver in 2017, Morris returned home to the community that raised him.
He began working in Bosque Farms for a local fabrication shop where he designed and built automated equipment for cleanroom environments as well as Department of Energy facilities. Currently, Morris works for a United States Department of Defense contractor working on directed energy weapon systems.
When not at the office, Commissioner Sparkman is most likely in the skies flying hot air balloons or riding side-by-sides.
